It’s Christmas 2017, and I have a lot to share. This year I lost my best friend of 76 years, as my mom passed on to Heaven at 99 years of age. It was quite a different time, as I sat with my good friend of over 30 some years at Friday’s. Christie Rothchild I was able to share more in-depth with her of my plans for the future, as I’m finally writing a book about my exciting life. Born 6 months before The bombing of Pearl harbor in 1941 , my mom shared many interesting stories of her life.
Mine as I can remember was , attending 4 schools in theTown of Tonawanda. Starting with Lincoln School to Kenmore Junior on to Ben Franklin to Kenmore West and finally graduated in 1960 from Kenmore East as the mid term 1st class of 1960.
Months later joining the United States Navy, and working on engines of C118 planes then on to flying as part of the crew. I visited a few great countries being based out of New Jersey. Europe, Iceland, Greenland, Scotland Germany France Ireland and a few Asian areas.
A medical break sent me to the hospital in Philly, and that’s when I was discharged with an honorary discharge. But as fait had it I met a drummer at a uso event, and I went to a Philadelphia recording studio and Frank Virtue recorded a song I wrote called “Too Young” released on World wide records and recorded it.
After my discharge from Navy I returned to Western New York, with a yellow record in hand titled “The Travelers” and coined the name Gerry Gee and the Travelers , and establishing a change of name of Mansion House to ” Mansion HousePeppermint Lounge on Main Street in Buffalo.
I can remember my Dad how he loved to Make and record movies , came in and movies me. “Then there was now such thing as Video or cam Corders”
